I'm having a problem with connecting to my ftp area. I seem to not be able to even establish a connection with the server.

in command prompt I type ----> ftp ftp.[mydomain].com
and the response is 'Connection Refused'

I've had powweb for a number of years and have never had this issue...

Replies?

For cusotmers on the Legacy servers, your domains now point to the load balancer so if you were ftping to your domain you will no longer be able to do so. You will have to use the FTP Hostname in Located in the FTP tab in OPS.

So if you are on what used to be a legacy server...thats your problem.

I'm having the same problem.

I've been with PowWeb for years and now all of a sudden I can't ftp with Dreamweaver.

I have ALWAYS been ftp's to the hostname, which did change recently and it did work for a while, but now it doesn't.

In Dreamweaver I have FTP Host: terra.powweb.com

Do I have it wrong? That's what it says in my OP, I believe.

Yes, I did send a message to PowWeb, because I couldn't FTP through sitemanager either. They emailed me saying they fixed it, but it still doesn't work. It SOMETIMES works in sitemanager now, but it still doesn't work in Dreamweaver at all. I emailed them back explaining this, but I haven't heard from them again.

Any ideas? Do I have my settings wrong in Dreamweaver?

Thanks,
e

Go in your OPS, to the FTP tab, there you shall see your hostname.

Okay, my hostname is correct, so why can't I ftp with Dreamweaver like I use to?

Okay, obviously I'm real slow...

In the box on "Define sites" in Dreamweaver, that says "FTP Host", I should put in...

ftp**.powweb.com

instead of terra.powweb.com?

Because I don't think that works for me, but I'll try again now.

Try logging into http://webftp.powweb.com . You should be able to with the hostname in OPS...then you can modify DW to the same settings.

you need to replace the ** with the number of your ftp.

I can do this and log on, but I don't have the slightest how this helps me change my setup in Dreamweaver.

Obviously my login and password must be correct or I wouldn't have been able to log on to that website, so that leaves the FTP host - what goes in that box? There's also a HOST Directory box, does anything go in there? I've been leaving that one blank.

It use to work when it was set up like this:

FTP Host: terra.powweb.com
Host Directory:
Login: mylogin
Password: mypassword

Now it doesn't work. I have tried to put these things in the FTP Host box to no avail:
ftp.powweb.com
ftp**.powweb.com
ftpMYID.powweb.com
webftp.powweb.com

I'm sorry I'm such an idiot, but I really don't know what belongs in that box and it's driving me crazy.

For FTP host ... use exactly what it shows in OPS>FTP tab

And make sure you have passive mode ticked.

Thank you alphadesk! I did not have passive mode ticked!
