View Full Version : case sensitive
How can I make the files on my site that they are not case sensitive?
I had a web site listed with another server and the file names and extensions were not case sensitive when I uploaded them to powweb I need to make them all lower case in order to work. HELP!!

You don't "have" to make them all lowercase to work. Uppercase and mixed case will work, but they are case sensitive.
It's just best to stay with all lowercase no spaces to not get confused.
You cannot make the site not case-sensitive - that comes with hosting on a Unix or Linux platform.

You could use .htaccess to force all lowercase, but that's probably not the best thing to do.
Thanks:
It looks like I have the answer, with hosting on a Unix or Linux platform The file name and extension have to be exact. This site was on an MS server before and it was not case sensitive I’ll nave to bite the bullet and correct all the file names so the match.
Thanks again for the help.
