For all the DNS gurus,

I have a little webserver at home (off my cable modem). I want to control my DNS, in a way.

For example, 90% of the time, mysite.com will be pointed to powweb. If something goes down or I want to change the site...I can redirect to my IP address at home (which will have an exact copy of the site). And obviously I don't want to wait 2-3 days for the info to propagate.

Could www.dyndns.org or www.no-ip.com perform this kind of service (and is it free ;) )?

I know for a fact that ZoneEdit (http://www.zoneedit.com/) will do website failover and supports dynamic IPs.

Hi,

I've referred a couple of people here and haven't heard back from them. (I guess it works well)

I haven't tried yet, but registerfly has dynamic DNS builtin as standard service.
I think it only works with subdomain.

But with registerfly or some other domain name services,
your change to the DNS is very quickly reflected.
Sometime, it's nearly instant.

You need to use their DNS for this to work, though.
It means you have to manege all A,C,MX and TXT records by yourself.
