Hi:
I have started building a web site with the latest fashion trends from New York night clubs. Not much yet, just some pictures that you will hopefully enjoy. But I would like to know what you would like to see on such a web site.
Please use the link on the web site to mail in comments.
Regards.
Here is my assesment on your site. Don't take this personally of course :) . This just to help you out in the future. You can use it to whatever degree you want or not at all.
My screen size: 1024x768
1: Intro page - People will normally click on the image to enter the site, so putting a link an mp3 instead might tend to ugh people especially if they are already playing their own music (happened to me). Instead create another picture or text saying "Please Click Here to play my site theme" or something to that effect.
Really bright red background usually hurt the eyes a little. The blue text does the same with the red background. It is also hard to see the title within the picture. You could also put a border around the pic to make it look more of a picutre frame. Makes it neat.
The dots seem out synch with the text down at the bottom.
2: Photo selection page - It is best to keep a good layout or template to make the site more uniformed. That way one page isn't bright pink and the next a brown. Show consistency. You can always expand on what you want to do to this page. If you have photoshop (my favorite) or corel draw (good program and lots cheaper) you can create banners for each of the clubs instead of text. Makes it more interesting. Also if you want you can put that clubs hours of operation and the location for those that want to know where the clubs are at.
3: Picture section - I tend to shy away from photosets that extend left and right. Meaning that I have to scroll to the right of the screen. I use a larger screen than some and those that use 800x600 it becomes a pain to scroll up and down and left and right just to navigate through the page.
The blue links under the picture are too dark and I am unable to read them.
For those that navigate to these pages you can also put at the top of the page "Hit Esc to turn stop music". That way it gives them an option to listen to it.
Final notes: If you are looking to get alot of people navigating through your site I always believe if you make it simple and still visually stimulating then you are good to go.
If you really want to know the do's and don'ts of a website go here:

I hope this helps you out. You learn as you go and hopefully all works well.
If you also want go here for some good website templates.

Well,I agree with Forsteen. The intro page needs a image or text stating "Click here to enter".And about the linking thru the site. Its a pain in the @ss to keep hitting the back button just to navigate through the site.Check out http://stickysauce.com ...They have very good templates for webpages and navigational bar.....

the changes are in. Please take another look....
lol.Is something wrong with my computer or are you doing this on purpose. The front page image is kinda too big and the (I guess) to enter design is too far down away from that big ol image. And so when I did enter. No nightlife. No photos.I thought I'll die from all the scrolling. The background design will not work with the black text (if it'll work at all).It took me a couple times just to see "Lounge,Club, and stylein.(spelled correctly:Styling *wink*) And the scrolling, uummmmmmm, never mind...I'm a newbie at this:D
Lemme go back and try to finish up my site:rolleyes:
When I posted the post above this one.I was on a old power macintosh g3.So it didn't show your site appropriately. Now that I'm home on my Dell. Here it is....
OH MY DAMN!!!
The links,the background,the back button,the difference between Lounge,Club,Stylein (styling).Goodness Gracious...lol
Just messing witcha Julie:p  :D
I see you still like RED and from what I see you do not plan on having any visitors that are not on a cable or dsl high speed connection.
Having a 650k image on your front page causes it to take around 2 to 3 minutes to load on a slow modem connection. That same 650k picture can be resized to 700 pixels wide instead of the 800 that it is now, and with a small amount of compression it becomes a 69k picture instead of 650k.
Red is a good attention getter for some things, but having a screen full of it is just a bit much, besides the color red tends to make people angry and it's not a color that should ever be used to this much of a degree. Especially not for your initial greeting to your visitors.
I like some of your changes, especially not having the music loading on your intro page. The menu buttons are a nice touch and you seem to be trying to make it easier for people to navigate. I just think you have a few more things to consider and you'll be on your way to a really nice entertaining web site for young people.
