View Full Version : Help Please Win 2K Question - 'folder.htt file'
Could some one tell me a way to restore Web View Templates - folder.htt file in Windows 2000. I accidentally deleted it from the localtions C:\WINNT , C:\WINNT\system32 folders thinking that it is the virus Redolf.A
Now the Explorer is not able to show the web view and thunbnail view
Please some one help if there i a way to fix this without re-installing Win. I tried to fix it with SytemFileChecker (Sfc.exe) utility but with no success.
It is just a scripting file. Send me a PM if you still need it and I can help you.
Yeah I understand it is an html template with embedded java scripts in it but I doubt the content of it varied in all the four location from where all I deleted them. I understoop that they were the files defaultly rendered the web view in every folders according to its content..... ( for example the template for the folders where system files where there varied from template for other folders )
If you could send me a copy of each those files from all those default locations in the correct order I would be grateful. Or is there any other way to fi x it . But I don't want a reformat and install as I can't have all those Seurity Paches downloading and installing again
Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot B&T for the template you gave to save my life..... and I was able to figure out
the key folder to put it, which let every other folder viewed as 'Web View'
That folder is - "DRIVE":\WINNT\Web If you loose the 'folder.htt' file in that folder you
won't be able to see any other folder in veb view by default. But you could still view a
particular folder in 'Web View' by using the 'Costumize This Folder' Wizard found in Win 2K
and lower Win XP don't support this.
Thanks B&T once again.... You were really quick to come up with a copy of the missing
file...Thanks a lot
