I am assisting a friend that is attempting to setup two sata 250 gb hardrives on a D915pbl Intel MOBO. During the initial install of the raid setup, step 2 did not appear, so he could configure both drives 0 and 1 as one drive for a total of 500 GB. Now he has drive 0 that displays 180 gb and the second drive doesn't show up in " My Computer ". But yet it does show in the boot configuration for the drives.
The OS Windows XP pro is loaded. If drive1 is disconnected the computer will not boot to Windows. What is the best approach to take for reconfigureing the two drive in a raid array?

Which level of array you're trying for could easily mean that for 2 x 250Gb you get 250Gb (or less) accessible storage.
