Hey everyone, I am upgrading my site. I am looking for some basic layout critiques as well as color scheme etc. Thanks in advance.

Here are my thoughts,
So far it looks like a good template but there is no content at all.
I tried to register but I think you have to come back from Malaga or Amsterdam to activate me.
the color scheme is easy on the eyes. It needs more color and more pictures on the home page.
I'm not sure about the weather link. Is this relevant to a site called College Snapshot? not sure as the site is just a template at this point.
check out www.trekshare.com it might give you some inspiration or ideas for where to go with this site.
I would personalize the site a bit more, maybe making it my homepage. There are so many gallery sites where you can load your images and share. They usually have the webmasters images and maybe some of their friends shots. Baby pictures, holiday pics, and other pics that are really boring to the outside world. Your site needs an edge....
I think you should post again when your site is a bit more developed and has the gallery open.

The immediate impression is that it is a polling site. The content of the typical hot spot of a page (about 1/3rd down the screen from the top when page opens) should be whatever the page is about, not a poll as to whether the site is worthy of appreciation!

That aside, yours is a perfectly adequate if somewhat dull and standard colour scheme and the page looks quite good at first glance - it's just a matter of deciding what the purpose of the page is. I wouldn't vote in your poll on principle until the site is actually presented as being for the purpose stated in the top border...

I think a site about snapshots should have a lot of images/examples. It will give surfers and voters something to immediately give themselves an impression of... It will also give people submitting photos something to work with/compete against/create . It comes across too flat for me - it needs some life. I would play with adding a lot of your own, Brandon, snapshots to give people an idea that you are the right person to be launching this site.

Thanks everyone for the advice, the reason the photo gallery part isnīt included is that I have to wait for Coppermine 1.4 to be compatible with Xoops. (Whines)
