Powweb is great!! Only one thing I can think of which it's lacking, and that is the ability to create a mailing list and email the members.

I used to use listbot till they cancelled their free service. I currently have a few hundred people on my mailing list for www.taborama.com and currently have them in an Outlook Distribution List, but the emails are messy due to the fact that the To: or Cc: field contains hundreds of email addresses.

Any chance of getting something setup in the near future. It would also be great if it would accept imports of tab or comma sepertated value files so us with current mailing lists could easily import them.

Keep up the good work,
Jeremy

If you're worried about cleaning up your e-mails, do what I do.

Put one address in the To field (such as Distribution.List@sotik.com or Undisclosed.Receipients@sotik.com) Put all the other addresses in the BCC field (Blind Courtesy Copy).

They'll all get the e-mail. It'll be cleaner without all the addresses. And it doesn't allow anyone to see each others e-mail addys, which is a bonus i you're security-conscience.

Ever thought of setting up your own? I think you would be most pleased with the function and control you have if you do.

Here is a list of almost 100 mailing list scripts written in Perl. Most are free too.

I went to the CGI Resource Index and found a great mailing list handler. It's called 'List Merge' and it's available here:

www.dtp-aus.com

However, this script only maintains and mails to your list. You have to install a companion script called 'EnnyForm'. With the two combined scripts you can set up your subscribe / un-subscribe forms, create and manage your list(s), and send out your mailings in either HTML, plain text, or both! It does/stores it all on your web space and uses formmail.

It's incredibly full-featured. I even set up an order form on one of the sites I maintain using it's database and it worked brilliantly.

It can seem a bit overwhelming to install if you're a beginner, but it's been a great performer for me! Oh yeah, it's free...
