Hello fine people,

Please take a look at our site: http://southshorebroadcastinginc.ca
or http://cftv.ca

and give me any feed back you can.

also, there are 2 problems

1) The address bar icon is not showing up :confused:
2) Some people are having trouble seeing the pictures in the sponsors page, and also the 3rd cell in the front page of the site. (The code is actaully missing from the HTML they recieve). Anyone else having the same problem, or know why this would happen.

Anyway,
Thank you very much
-Andrew

overall it is a nice looking site, there are a few issues with things lining up though, the header and the red bar below have different sizes and so is does the body, thouse should be the same size to give the site a nice fluid layout. there are also some issues with the copy in the clored boxes, there is no padding, and the copy runs right up to the edge of the box, try adding a padding-left to your paragraph in your css file. otherwise it is a nice layout, easy on the eyes and has info that is easy to find and read.

I think the whole site looks great. On a quick run through everything loaded quickly and was easy to navigate. I like the layout and color scheme. very professional looking.

I tried to get the address bar Icon to pop up but without any luck.
is it saved in the main directory as "favicon.ico"?
it's working in - http://cftv.ca but not the new address.
I bookmarked the site and still have no luck.

It is saved as a PNG in the root.
It shouldn't work in CFTV.ca because that's a frame from tiger direct. http://southshorebroadcastinginc.ca/cftvicon.png

and here is the code:
<title>SouthShore Broadcasting Inc. - Home</title>

<LINK REL=StyleSheet HREF="CSS/style.css" TYPE="text/css" MEDIA=screen>
<LINK REL="icon" HREF="cftvicon.png" TYPE="image/png">

</head>
.......
I don't see it, do you?
Maybe I'm having a problem on my end, (i use Fire Fox and I know it surports it)

Change it to an .ico file and name it favicon.ico, place it in the root of your htdocs folder. That way you won't need the <Link Rel for it in your head and most all browsers will see the favicon.ico.

The cftv site is great - it suits the purpose for which it is intended and reflects the nature of your business but there's just one little thing... If the page width were just a few pixels less wide, I wouldn't have to keep using the slider to see the last word of each sentence on a 17" monitor... only a tiny detail but it might be off-putting to someone whose custom you want or need so I feel it is worth mentioning - these days an awful lot of people are on 17" monitors and I always think it's good to try and appeal to the majority without rejecting the upper or lower end user ranges if one can...

That's a very good point,
that said, that an issue with your resolution 800x600 instead of 1024x800...
This is something we do plan do fix, although most people at a resolution of 1024, still many people (including both my parents) use the 800x600 resultion

I seem to recall, in the nineties, there was some incredible website online somewhere that you could go to for up-to-the-minute global statistics. I just wish I could remeber where... it included things like the percentages of people using different access methods, equipment, etc, went by country, by language, by all sorts of paramaters and was a real eye-opener. Does anyone know whether that site or another like it is online now? That would be really helpful!

This is a fairly good site for trend statistics

Thanks - I went and had a quick look but none of the sites listed is like the one I mentioned. I will have to dig in my early research CDs and see if I can find the original site URL - I have kept almost everything I have ever seen of interest... you would not believe the amount of space the result takes up - I have an entire cabin dedicated to computers. software and webpages saved from the Internet over the past eight years...
