Okay.. Im trying to install a flash chat.. And I cant connect to FTP.

Im using mysql03.powweb.com port 21 and all that jazz. and it wont connect. Ive checked/changed my password several times..

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't know flash chat, but I do know that mysql03.powweb.com is not an ftp server.

when I created the database (mysql) that is what it told me to connect with

"is hosted on PowWeb's server mysql03.powweb.com "

yes, that is a mysql server. in your post above you said you wanted to connect to an ftp server.

what error are you getting?

I have no idea what you are doing as I do not know anything about flash chat. Are you trying to connect to FTP or MySQL? Maybe someone who has used it will stop by and help you. It is hard for me to guess what you need to do.

You are saying I cant connect to it through an FTP program, so do I need a different program to connect to MySQL?

In doing a quick google search, it looks like flash chat is an ASP application. If that is true, it will not run on PowWeb servers.

It may not be the one I found in my search. Sounds like I should just bow out of this thread and maybe someone who has used it will come in. If you have a link to where you found it, post it.

But if it is PHP MySQL based, then yes you want to connect using the MySQL server. There should be some config file where you enter the server, user, password. And you may need to create the MySQL database first.

That should work fine here. You have already installed phpbb I presume? So you are already connecting to MySQL then? Looks like it is just an extension.

If the problem is you cannot get phpbb to run, you should be able to get plenty of help with that here. Many people use it.
