FunkyJ.com (http://www.funkyj.com) is finally back on line, and moving towards my goal of a single repository for all my written and music stuff - interviews with DJs and bands, music and game reviews, as well as music and mixes I've made myself.

There's only a few interviews up so far (about 30...)
The other content will go up over this week, but I'm after opinions of how it looks and works so far...

Also, I'm using Mambo as my CMS, and if one of the security experts would kindly tell me if it is secure enough, and advise me on how to make it so if it isn't, that would be awesome!

Whoa, sorry, but you need to get rid of that splash page, now. I don't know what to say about the rest of the site. I can't see anything bad, but there's just something that doesn't flow, or maybe the elements aren't working together well. Something's amiss.

Other than that, the front page is almost valid, so good job there.

Maybe it is just me, but I am having trouble connecting to the site... I will try again later...

I agree that the intro page must go! That took some time even for high speed Internet and it didn't really enhance the site. But the slogan is cool, "Too weird to be alive, too rare to die!". I clicked to stream the audio files, but it asked me to download them as wma files.

The Music > CD > Katalyst - Agent Manipulated shows <!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> on the web page. The banner on the bottom links to a phpBB forum that has the standard layout and color scheme. It does not match the website, but it is easier to read. The link to the forum should be included in the horizontal and/or right navigation menus. Many people do not click banners, because they think they are advertisements.

The color scheme isn't my favorite, but it may appeal to your target audience. The music sample samples AC/DC's Back in Black while the rapper appears to stutter. I am a 36 year old white female, so maybe that is why I would rather hear the original song from AC/DC. ;) Okay, more music is playing and I feel like I am at one of the teenager parties we had in our basement for some of our relatives' birthday parties. We would play pool, dance, do the limbo and just get crazy. But mostly we baked pizzas and served food and drinks while the kids would party. They would send us old farts upstairs! :D

Actually, I don't mind the music, but my husband would turn it off. I can work to this music! I was afraid it would have too much violence, bad language or other offensive contents that would just add to my road rage if I listened to it while driving. :D

I may be able to help you get links. One of my clients has a recording studio and records hip-hop/rap as well as rock bands. Okay, I am grooving to the tunes now. That disco sound and that deep smooth voice is fun! Wait a minute, now the guy is close to the edge! Ha ha. I will not mention the rest of the lyrics. Still, it is entertaining.

If you do include questionable materials on your website, you may want to include a disclaimer on your website. But kids usually see the disclaimer and think the site is worth visiting for being taboo! My son is only seven, but he loves this kind of music. He took my Kid Rock cd for the Cowboy song, but he doesn't understand all the lyrics. Hope he doesn't repeat that at school. ;)

I would like to see a metallic look on your website. Maybe a pic of my old Caddy cruisin' or some people dancing. The site needs more color and fun pics for a party feel. Shades of gray are dark. The black is okay if there isn't TOO much of it. Red, yellow and orange are exciting colors. There is not About us link with a picture of you! Let's see it! :)

Along with everyone else, splash page = bad...

Why are there different menu items on the top versus down the right hand side? They should be the same or different, not half and half...

The menu on the right side is not bad (though a little un-conventional)... but along with that, the poll on the right side should probably be moved to the other side or furthur down the page... It just looks strange scanning across the page <Content> <Poll> <Menu>... the menu should be adjacent to the content...

That is all that I really see... I do like the general color scheme and look of the site. Very well done...
