I know this is gonna sound real stupid to most of u gurus, but, what on earth is a DB dump?
I'm facing this constant problem with phpBB2, whenever I install a new mod, it's like 5 installations to the whole forum before things r on the right track. When trying to backup or restore my DB from the forum, I get a weird 500 Internal Server Error. When doing my backups through phpMyAdmin I get extensions like sql, csv, etc... none of which seems to work with any of the backup/restore scripts I found on this forum or anywhere else. I always get errors like:
ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 2: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '×ل7xإîىٹإ÷+Et¾Rؤظ+!F^)لغ•

I know PowWeb gives the .dmp extension which works fine with these scripts when it comes to restore, but the problem is, as I said earlier. Sometimes I just have to restore my DB 5 times in one day, so the backups are usually missing stuff.
Can anyone help me out?
