Once again, this morning, spirts of extreme slowness are happening. For a few minutes my forum will be lightning fast, then all of a sudden come to a screatching halt for a minute or two. Actually getting page cannot be displayed in some cases.

Can anyone from Powweb elaborate on whats going on?

Thanks.

My pages are loading fine, but Sitemanager is sloooooooooooooow! It's like waiting for Christmas!

The time to load was reasonable - not long enough to time it.

You really have to spend a few minutes on the sites that are affected. Mine screams along for a few minutes of browsing the forum, then just dies out (long load times for a page, or the dreaded "page cannot be displayed"). Then a minute later, its back to screaming again..

Its pretty much annoying everyone who frequents my site.

Every time an image is requested, it has to be looked for - even if it's not served up. I assume (probably wrongly) that a missing image also causes an entry in a log file somewhere - this would have to be written to and cause server/resource load and a delay.

You're using Invision Power Board - Have you got it correctly installed???? The broken images suggest you don't.

You may not have changed anything and have had it working but 'things seem to go bump in the night' at Powweb - have they?

I got my second email today from a reader to my site that complained about my pages taking too long to open.

I told him I'd forward it to powweb. :)

But I know what you guys mean. When I try to work with PHPadmin sometimes I just have to leave my computer cause it is so slow. What normally takes a minute now takes 20 with phpadmin, such a waste of time.

It is also nice that my pages have window periods where they take 20+ seconds to load. Or just finally give up and say page can't be displayed.

I'm not convinced that the current slowness issues are all PowWeb related. As I posted in the php forum I've been trying to access the Gallery website on sourceforge.net, and it's takinh several minutes to load each page, and when I run a tracert, in 3 places it times out. When I do the same for my site, it times out once. So there may be other issues here.

I'm having the same problem. Periods of normal activity, then I'll get page cannot be displayed errors occasionally. Also, the occasional "Could not connect to database."

And, all my forum users are experiencing it as well. It's annoying the hell out of them.

I have heard talks that GOOGLES excited bot [major updates coming] is over using some servers. Maybe shared servers get hit hardest.

But, I have not really encountered other sites [off powweb] that load too slow [above 5 seconds].

well, it's good to wake up the next day and find your site still not working right. So when will these problems be fixed?

No, I can't reach your site. Exact same problem is occuring with my website. Must be a MySQL problem. I've had 20+ second load times just like the rest of you, except my issue hasn't been resolved in 3+ months.
