I am getting a lot of "too many connections" errors. I submitted the problem to support. Anybody else get this on 08?

Hi,

Yes I'm getting them as well.
I suppose the database is the reason of being my site often to be very very slow.

I always thought it was the PHP,
but I'm using a cache system now as well Zend Optimizer.
Still very slow most of the times.

What's going on here? My database hasn't been able to connect for 3 days now.. My message boards have been down for that many days. And I'm getting a lot of angry users contacting me. I don't know what to tell them at this point. I thought it was a problem I could fix. Now I know that I can't. I tried getting help in the chat room but nobody could help. This is pretty much my last resort. I'm on SQL08 and my site is http://battle-grounds.com/forum I have been running with PowWeb since this past November. This is the first real major problem I've had. Please help.

What's going on here? My database hasn't been able to connect for 3 days now..The error message I see when I check your link is typically dispalyed when there is an error in the config script. It isn't the same as an error from the server re: connections being rejected or busy server errors.

i use mercuryboard and it was fine an hour ago...but now it's giving me an error and it's not working. i'm on mysql08. im starting to think there's some problems with it as there are with mysql09.

i'm getting the following error:
Can't open file: 'mb_posts.MYI' (errno: 145)

You should try repairing your tables within phpmyadmin > http://phpmyadmin.powweb.com

For future reference ...

Login with https://phpmyadmin.powweb.com/

Then click on the DB name upper left ...

Then on the right below all the rows of tables click Select All ...

Then with the dropdown box select Repair Table ...

I checked the config file and it didn't have any errors. I've never had this problem in the past.

I'm getting intermittent connection problems to mysql08 as well. I have a couple phpbb forums, which have been running fine for months, and they are down at the moment due to mysql08:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mysql08.powweb.com' (60) in /www/r/rocftp/htdocs/rocmod/db/mysql4.php on line 48

Warning: mysql_error(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /www/r/rocftp/htdocs/rocmod/db/mysql4.php on line 330

Warning: mysql_errno(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /www/r/rocftp/htdocs/rocmod/db/mysql4.php on line 331
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

I have made no changes to my config or forum files. This isn't the first time I've gotten this error, it usually goes away after an hour or so, but it is annoying and becoming more frequent.

All mysql servers should be coming back up now or shortly ... if yours is still down please get with support or post in a new thread with domain name.

And mine on mysql08 never went down :D

OK...i've had to repair tables MANY times over now. Because I keep getting the same error. Then I repair my tables as someone suggested ^ but then I get the error again and I have to, once again, repair tables which seems to be only temporary. What's the deal?

How much torture do the admins think we need to endure? More peeps are viewing and posting in the MySQL thread than any other right now.

We are all experiencing the same corrupt file issues and getting the same lame repair instructions. Like we're all stupid children.

I'm down - on mysql08 - same issues - no information useless or otherwise...
