View Full Version : Geekstreak Redesign
Heyahs,
http://www.geekstreak.com has undergone a complete redesign. It's optimised for firefox, so if you use IE, the site will yell at you in white letters ;)
Anyways, let me know what you think, etc ...

Let's see. The overall look isn't bad, although the big all caps Geekstreak banner at the top looks a little jagged. The green to black fade is good.
The site looks find in IE and Firefox, and really, apart from a nifty border in FF, there really isn't much difference in appearance. Oh, as much as you want to tell people that their choice of browser sucks, keep in mind that many people can't choose their browser. Many people use the net from their workplaces, and they may not have the option of installing a new browser.
Also, lose that comma between Explorer and sucks.
I have a couple of content issues. First, the advertising seems a little ill placed and overbearing at times for google adsense ads. Second, it's hard to figure out what the site is about. The random tagline with every page load might be nifty, but it doesn't really users help discern what's going on.

I get this
phpBB : Critical Error

Hi -
Your sense of humor was enjoyable - liked the codes, but sort of wished for a
'top of pg.' link. Did you do the Flash games? May want to add an intro. page
explaining how to play for any who aren't sure. [Yeah, my Mario died quickly.]
Anyway, it's rather 'stiff' and formal looking - except for the header and backgnd.
gradient - which really don't go with the rest of the site's style. Did you once have
something goofier-looking and are now trying to clean things up? I'd suggest you make a new header with a mock logo / name for your site that incorporates the 'clean' quality
and colors of the site. [Or one of those cheesy 'business people' pics - with a twist.]
Have fun,
El

The contents are interesting. You missed an important recipe for geeks - Pizza! The code was funny. Most of the site is easy to read. The banner doesn't seem to fit as well as your previous banner. And some people are color blind and cannot distinguish red from green, so choose colors that work better together.
The forum is still the default color but is similar to the color scheme of the website. The website banner appears at the top of the forum, so an attempt to be consistent was made. So, where is the refer this geek to a (girl)friend link? ;)
