View Full Version : What should I do?
I'm not satisfied with my site but don't know what I should do... Any ideas??

Thanks for any help!

Hi -
I really like the graphics for your site: well done!
The general layout is okay, but I agree that the main page needs less 'filler'
in the margins and more content - move News to another page, unless it's
something relevant about the site/business/product updates, etc. If you have to
leave it as it, change the text on the left and right - there's not enough contrast
for either - and the 'Main Menu' image is too small and doesn't match the site
too well.
While trying to find out more about this company [a task, I tell 'ya],
checked the Products page:
Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /www/d/i/dizzydproductions.com/htdocs/shop/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file
So, might need to check that!
Not crazy about the green, but like grass, guess it grew on me. ;- ) Oh, the Poll area is kind of nutty since one has to go to another page to take it - or did I have to be a reg. user?
Nice job,

Yep! I have to agree with the above comments and have to add that I really loathed the intensity of the green - it maybe doesn't look as intense on your monitor as it does on the one I was looking at it through - and found it distracted me from the rest.
I'm not entirely sure I grasped the reason for the choice of such a strong, bright colour, given the content of the site - I'd be more inclined to use a sepia (that old browny tint that great-grandma's photos had?) to reflect the copy or, if green really is the only colour that will do, I would choose a much darker shade that becomes more background than foreground. At the moment that colour dominates.
Otherwise, a great site in the making!
Great job on graphics and layout. One thing that could hurt potential visitors from staying is the amount of graphics you have. I tested it with:
Web Page Optimizer:
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/index.html
If you run the test you get almost 30 sec load time for 56k. I'd recommend to try compressing the images to another format the best you can without quality loss. A good program for this is Macromedia Fireworks. Other then that not much else to say that's already been said by others. Good work and goodluck with the site :)
