View Full Version : SSH in place of Telnet?
Does Powweb offer SSH command prompt access to its customers?
Bummer, but I understand.

You can install phpshell or myshell if you're willing to give it a shot.
Just make sure directory is password protected by a .htaccess file.
I use myshell with no difficulties. I was unable to get phpmyshell to work for me but others have it up and running here.
Where can I find PHPshell or MyShell?

phpshell at
http://www.gimpster.com/php-shell/
The download page from myshell isn't active anymore, but you can download it directly from:

Which one is safer/better/has more features/works best with Powweb? ;-)
I personally feel that MyShell is superior to php-shell. They are both DANGEROUS to use if not secured properly. If not protected by .htaccess, or MyShell's built-in password feature, your site can go bye-bye with a simple:
rm -rf *
. . . . but you have backups right, not including those provided by PowWeb?
