when running gallery's random block file on my machine I get a 500 this was working fine up until today. The URL to the file is http://www.duparties.com/partypics/gallery/block-random.php

Everyone I found with a 500 error was experiencing it during confguration and other areas which I dont experience, its only on this file and without modification to it for some reason. Any ideas?

I'm getting this too. Just started within the past hour or two. About every 4th click around my site I'll get an Interanl Server Error notice on my php pages (forums, library, gallery). Refreshing the page usually clears it up until the next one.

Same here. 500 errors every other page load or so.

I guess it'd be too much to ask for my forum to work for a week without breaking.

I had the same issue with my vbulletin forums. I checked out the error log and here's what I found.

That is a "red herring" - you'll see that whenever there's a 500 error, no matter what. I suspect some error in PowWeb's configuration causes that log entry, but it seems otherwise harmless.

Yeah it stopped doing it so whatever it was they must of fixed it.

Mine is still doing it :( Any solutions for this? My gallery works fine its specifically with the block-random.php code, the only thing I might have changed when it stopped working and this is a big maybe because I believe it stopped working first was adding videos to my gallery.

i was working in my wordpress admin site at www.friedapplepie.net when suddenly i got the 500 error:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@friedapplepie.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

What did I do wrong? it is a pointed domain, and only that folder seems to be having issues. my main domain is working fine. How do I get it fixed?
Thanks

i was working in my wordpress admin site at www.friedapplepie.net when suddenly i got the 500 errorYou have a syntax problem in your .htaccess file. When I rename it, I get the under construction page. Double-check your .htaccess file!

thanks - i'm not sure that is it though, because i was working on it for a few hours after putting in the .htaccess file, and it was fine. but then all of a sudden the error started to appear. could it be something else? also, i'm not really sure how to look for errors in my .htaccess ?

sorry to be such a pain
thanks

ok, so i renamed the .htaccess file and you are right, www.friedapplepie.net comes up fine with the construction page. but www.jasminema.net/friedapplepie (which is the folder that friedapplepie.net was pionting to) still comes up with the 500 error. what could be wrong in the folder that is causing this?

thanks

Strange at first this domain http://www.friedapplepie.net/ loads fine with no .css layout then it loads ok with the .css layout, i hit reload it gave me 500 error.

I tried again several times and it seem to be loading fine

www.jasminema.net/friedapplepie loads and redirects to http://www.friedapplepie.net/

btw, check your links under 'catagories' they are not working

your link shows for i.e. http://www.friedapplepie.net/Structure:%20/category/general/

the : is manually added
the %20 shows when you have space in a file name or folder

it should read

http://www.friedapplepie.net/Structure/category/general/

Same story with Archives link

the folder 'Structure' can not be called 'Structure: '

good luck!

yeah, i've been playing around with it, so some of the things you've been doing seem strange because i've been changing thing around while you reload :) thanks for checking it out for me;
it seems that it must be a problem with the .htaccess file that wordpress generates, in which case i will go to their forums.
thanks!

thanks!I'm almost positive that WordPress does not use or create any .htaccess file.

Your problem probably is with .htaccess, but nothing to to with WordPress.

More than likely to do with subdmain or domain pointing.

If you post your .htaccess file ... with xxxx for user name ... I'm sure someone will be able to help you with it.

is it possible that wordpress 1.5 now generates one? because i found one that i did not create in the folder where wp lives, and it seems to have some wordpress jargon in it...

thanks

Ahhh ... did you try to use the hack that creates short URLs for WP?

Thats the only one I know of.

i don't think so...
i think i was just changing the permalinks option

That could very well have broken your .htaccess code for your subdmain or pointing domain.

thanks, i guess i had entered something wrong in telling wp how to set up my permalinks. they write into an .htaccess file, which resulted in my 500 error.
solved!
thanks
