View Full Version : Access to my new site
I am new to web sites. I have my domain name ready at Powweb, it shows under construction. I published a simple page with FrontPage. I still see the under construction page. How do I see the files and change the page names etc for my site? In other words, how do I access the administrative part of my site? Thank you for your help.

Hi Keith,
Go to https://ops.powweb.com/ and login with the user name and password that was emailed to you when you signed up. Here is where you need to install Frontpage extensions before you can publish with Frontpage.
Cilck packages> on the right hand side of HTTP you will see Install Frontpage extensions.
What is your URL.
I went to the site and it says that the extensions will be added within five minutes. I still don't understand how to log into my site and see the files, graphics , etc?

If you use Frontpage to publish you won't see the files on the server. Frontpage will send up any new pages or the whole web from your hard drive for you.
If you want to see the files on the server and rename etc. on the server, the best way is to use an FTP program like WS_FTP_LE.
Here is a tutorial with a link to download WS_FTP_LE.

THANKS!
I am slowly moving forward. Do you recomend using Frontpage with "extensions" or the FTP upload method? I don't know the difference. Keith:)

I don't use the Frontpage extentions and upload with WS_FTP_LE because I don't ever use the built in Frontpage forms etc that requires the extensions.
Many people do use the Frontpage to the max and are very happy.
