Do you have the driver needed for XP? Did you using a different connection? I have a USB 2.0 to IDE cable to plug a hard drive to a computer and it seems to like some hard drives better than others. I tried different brands from different manufacturing dates. Sometimes this stuff is quirky.

Try unplugging and replugging. Then reboot. If you don't see a driver wizard with the Add New Hardware, go into the control panel on your computer to try to add it. Sometimes the driver is incorrect or corrupted. You could remove the driver entirely and reinstall it.

Another suggestion, be sure any necessary Windows updates are installed BEFORE you install drivers. This seems to make Windows much happier. I didn't think it mattered until recently.

I realize these items are plug-and-play or plug-and-pray, but sometimes you DO need to install a driver if the generic drivers from Windows doesn't work. ;)

I tried downloading that drive without any luck. :( I looks like it is for partitioning a hard drive. I went to the website for usmodular........... the maker of of quikdrive and they had this posted on their site.

Biometric Flash Drive

I saw that, too. But I posted the OTHER link just in case. Sometimes the driver works better than the one provided by Windows. If you reboot your computer, sometimes the computer finally detects the hardware. If you switch from XP to 98 mode, you may need the driver.

Glad you got it working. :)
