E-mail sending problems

I have set up the e-mail just as it is shown in your help files, I have even activated smtp and now after about a month or so of it working it will not send, I get this error message:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'HG WildDen', Server: 'mail.wildden.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I changed port from 25 to 24 and it is now working, I saw this is another post (unrelated)

was this the right thing to do?

Wildden,

I had a simular problem, but I did the same thing by going to port 24 and that solved the problem. Some isps are fussy and they block port 25. The one I use just recently started doing that I had to change ports in my email programs for all servers.
