I am looking for a way to set up a Directway Satellite Internet 2 way network. I am using the dw-4000 modems. Is there a way to avoind going to the dw-6000 modems?

I'm not sure what you are asking and I don't know anything about Directway Satellite Internet, but if you have a broadband connection from them that is connecting to an ethernet card in your computer and you want to connect 2 computers to it I would think a router would do the trick. Is this what you are trying to do?

The modem plugs directly into the USB port. No ethernet card is used.

Is there an ethernet port on the modem? Or is it USB only?
If not, you should still be able to connect both computers, just the one that is connected to the modem will have to stay on for the other to be connected.
Do both machines have network cards in them?

There is no ether net connection on the modem. Nic cards installed in both computers. Ther is suppose to be a specific way to network them together. I am having difficulty finding someone experienced with 2 way satellite systems.

You should be able to connect the 2 machines with a crossover ethernet cable and then enable internet connection sharing on the machine that is connected to the modem. If you have an ethernet hub or switch and 2 ethernet cables you could use that in place of the crossover cable.
