I am sure this has been brought up, but I cant find it. My girfriend wants an email acct. using my domain(she wants to feel special), but when I set it up, she has access to my email too. I assigned her her own username and password. Still, my stuff shows up when she logs into webmail. Is there a way she can have her own email acct. without seeing mine? (ahem)if you know what I mean. Anyways, I have not been able to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Barry

First of all ... change your password -- if you get my drift ;)

Next, assuming that your girlfriend's name is Esmerelda, sign on to your main account in OPS and go to the POP3 section and create a new user named esmerelda (all lowercase). Give her a password (she can change it later).

Next, go to the SMTP section of OPS and add an alias of her choice (e.g. "bubbles@<yourdomain>"). As a forwarding address, put esmerelda.

Now, any email sent to "bubbles@<yourdomain>" (or whatever she wants her email address to be) will be automatically plopped into esmerelda's mailbox.

After all of this is working, she can go to http://mail.<yourdomain> and enter esmerelda for the username and whatever password you set up for her.

Because you changed your password, she can't read your mail.

You can have fun e-mailing each other, however.

Hope this helps

Tom

It's not a rule. It's just a good idea to change your password if you have told it to somebody else and you don't want that person to know it anymore :)
