As soon as I visit www.powweb.com Firefox will lock up. I can still exit but then I have to go to task manager and kill the firefox.exe process. Does anyone else running ff have this problem? I realize it could be just me since I run nightlies.

I am using Firefox now and I am not experiencing any problems. I have never had that problem with ff and powweb.com

I use Firefox as well (only released versions) and have not seen any such issues.

The issue here may not (probably isn't) related, but this thread (http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=50997) is about problems with Firefox 1.0.3

I'm sure it isn't related. 1.04 is now out which fixes the security problems.

Ok... It's either the nightly or something else. Guess I can't blame pw.

it's probably a cookie locking up, or the network/connection blocking some packets causing a ''lockup''. Also check your system settings, they might be causing firefox to unexpected lockup as well.

Note that the PowWeb home page has a popup (which seems to evade Firefox's popup blocker - I'm not sure how it's created) - this may be causing you problems.

Ok - Duh-HTML, as Vincent Flanders calls it... I figured it might be something like that.

Why are you using Firefox? It's the worst browser available on the internet. The only reason some people like it is because they "want something new". Try Netscape 7.2, it's great.

BTW I notice that you're still trying to use these forums to spam google. Good luck with that

Have you read news about Firefox security vulnerabilities? Firefox is not good at all. As I said, Netscape 7.2 and the latest version of IE are the most stable browsers.

Who is spamming Google? With what? With my signature? Get hold onto yourself and stop throwing such insulting accusations. Check your pm.

Gentlemen, gentlemen... Let's be civil here.

It's a div overlay - so it's not a popup in the generalized sense of the word; therefore, blockers won't catch it.I'd rather it was a regular pop-up than a div, that way I could block it and I wouldn't see the !@#$*%* thing every time I went to the page.

Why are you using Firefox? It's the worst browser available on the internet.Funny, that "worst browser" manages to keep my friends, family, and customers spyware-free and provide more features compared to some of the other browsers out there. That's a pretty sweeping statement you made... it might be your opinion, but it's not very common (http://vtbsd.net/winhelp/ffnews.shtml) .

The only reason some people like it is because they "want something new".Whoa, now this is just wrong. I dare say it's usually one of the following reasons:

1) They want features in Firefox that the other browsers don't provide
2) They want the security, safety, and piece of mind that other browsers don't provide
3) They can't run IE (because they're not on Windows)

Try Netscape 7.2, it's great. Now that's ironic, since NS 7.2 is based on Mozilla just like Firefox is, except FF has much newer code than NS 7.2, which means it has more bug-fixes. Plus FF lacks all the ad-junk that has been tied into NS by AOL.

A nightly build of a program is not necessarily stable. I'm not sure why anyone would report problems with a site while running such a program.
