this has somewhat to do with this i need help with installing/formating a 250 gig HD...i put in the windows cd and it gets to the partition part of the setup and it doesn't reconize the HD at all plz help

humm what Operating system
you may need 3rd party setup usually comes with a new hard drive
Is the hard drive SATA?
If so you will need to download some SATA drivers and put them on a floppy disc. When windows boots from the CD there is a part where it asks you to press a key to install any 3rd party drivers. When you do this you can put in the disc and windows should then recognise the drive.
Not SATA?... weird problem... but yeah what OS and what make of HDD etc.?
