I am using Windows ME. At one time eI loading a program to copy CD's. I have since uninstalled the program. When I boot the computer it freezes up. I then hit ALT/CTR/DEL at the same time and a window pops up showing what programs are running. For some reason eventhough I deleted the program, ROXio Project Selector, which I think is part of the software that I thought I had uninstalled is running. If I stop running this program, The computer runs fine. Any ideas?

I searched for Roxio on the computer and sure enough, the program is on the computer. If I go to the control panel/ addd/remove programs, that program does not appear. How do I remove this program?

go to start | run and type in msconfig. Go to the startup tab and remove the checkmarks next to any entry that has to do with this application. That should remove anything from your startup.

Following that, you can delete the application from your hard drive if you want. It hopefully shouldn't cause any problems, though I can't make 100% guarantees.

You cannot remove a program that is running. You must disable it. You can hit Control, Alt and Delete simultaneously and select the program to disable it.

Or you can
go to start | run and type in msconfig. Go to the startup tab and remove the checkmarks next to any entry that has to do with this application. That should remove anything from your startup.
Then reboot your computer and it should not be running. Then you can remove it.

Try to re-install the application and then uninstall it again, thru add/remove programs.

Oooohhhhh, I like it. I used to use IBS startup editor but it doesn't seem to get along with xp that well.
