I'm currently trying to install a torrent tracker. In order to make the torrent available two folders need to have CHMOD 777. Whenever I set the folders to CHMOD 777 (and tell it to also go for the files inside). The torrent file (which is in one of the two folders) stays at CHMOD 600. The other data file stays at CHMOD 644. I've tried changing them individually but they just reset. I don't understand whats wrong, I tried it out on a friend of mine's server and it worked fine.

First torrent tracker is not allowed on powweb servers.

Second all folders need to be 755 ... not 777

Sorry ...

I don't think PowWeb allows 777. Not sure how to get around it.

From the TOS policy

BitTorrent seeders, trackers and .torrent files are not allowed. (http://powweb.com/PowWeb/Company/Policy/TOS)
