what's everybody think?
check out the bike video in the family page...
Ok, I know that this is a personal page, for that reason I can accept your color choices, however you might want to consider a bit less "clutter" on your main welcome page.
With all that is going on there, and so many different links scattered around the page, it makes it really hard to notice any one thing in particular.
You may want to consider grouping a few of your things, like putting one link in for a "News" page and putting your "New" tickers on that page, as well as putting up a "Links" page where you keep all of your links in a neat order.
Your front "Welcome" page should be a clean simple to navigate page, where visitors can make their choices of what they want to see.
I do like your coding and the fact that you have it coded so that no matter the screen resolution the pages all fit into the browser window. And for a family/personal site, you have a good start, just need to organize a bit more.

Think of ways to organize.
Think a logical design for your site. Maybe even draw it on paper, or type some ideas on Notepad. Like, make your whole website structured on the left in a row of links. On PowWeb's page they have all the links to the left, and the content to the right. Try to do something more practical like that. Don't clutter too much information on the main page, or it'll look bad.

I hear ya, and for the most part I think your right...
But the site is dedicated to information overload...
I do all of my 'proper' design stuff at work...
I like the front page because it shows my weather, headlines, and google search all together (and a family picture to boot)...
The one thing I disagree with is the comment about is the logical design comment...all of the pages have a logical design (same type of page banner, link bar, then content) and same style...
It sure is a visual assault and cluttered, though...been thinking about making the 'site map' the home page, and the current index the 'main page'...

Having links as different colors might help the confusion. Default link colors are GOOD. Also as atomic-design mentioned a certain area that is designed as a menu. It would prolly look a lil better with a different color scheme. Maybe taking off the borders off the images. Maybe have a solid color(white) for the main content area and have the text black in that area.
