I need to know the technicalities for selling my music CD's on my website. I produce them myself, but need to know how to do shipping and handling, and the other technicalities (I'm really new at this). Would you be able to help me with this/send me in the right direction for info? thanks so much!

Well, shipping is pretty simple. You insert the CD in a mailing envelope, put an address label and postage on it, and drop it in the mailbox. Most e-commerce software has a feature to help with printing a label (or you can use the free tools at www.usps.com and print labels with or without postage.)

Billing is the bigger issue - unless you have an established merchant account with a credit card processor, you'll probably want to use a payment gateway such as PayPal or 2checkout.com (to name just two.) Again, e-commerce software tends to work with these automatically (you will need to set up an account and pay fees for the transactions, of course.)

I would recommend PayPal because of its popularity/reputation. You can also sell your CDs on Ebay

What kind of music do you produce?
