That's a really cool site. I like the graphics. It's also very cool when you turn the button on.
Being on a 56k modem connection, I normally find most Flash sites to be too slow and not worth the time it takes waiting.
HOWEVER, your site was a very nice change from that. You've done a very good job of keeping everything small enough to load at a decent speed and still maintained high quality.
I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with what you've done with Flash.
Keep up the good work.

I'm not a Flash hater by any means (wait for it) but I don't think I'd use it to entirely host a portfolio site. If someone needed to put together a case to hire you and required hardcopy of anything but your resume, they'd have to work for it. From a smaller client point of view, however, it might be fine.
I like the overall feel and the concept surrounding your site (a portion of a lab) is great but (there's that word again) there's a few things that jump out at me.
I was forced to pay attention to the site for navigational clues. Reading the message, playing with the burner or drop-down slowed me down. A more conventional navigation scheme at the bottom or top might be considered.
The little slider at the top -- I kept wanting to use it for navigating. What can I say, I also keep falling for the "pull my finger" gag.
The bubbling sound -- make it stop mommmmeeee! :) Seriously, a way to turn off sound would be great. The on/off switch does it but (dang!) it asked me if I wanted to leave...no, I just didn't want to listen to the bubbling!
Now for the disclaimer and where I'm coming from. My own personal sites are a joke (1 color or "under construction" and I have the graphical talent of a gnat. (Those who can't do, teach? :D ) However, experience-wise, I've had 15 years of retail merchandising (actually won an award or two) and 10 years of info architecture and usability. In my opinion (which counts for nothing, remember), I think a little tweaking and a reconsideration of a full-Flash site would increase your marketing message.
I hope this hasn't been harsh, it's not meant to be -- Your work samples were great; you obviously have the talents and skills required to do what you're setting out to do. Don't stop.

I agree with RSaucier in that some improvments can be made in the navigation. Your main navigation is in the bottom-right corner and isn't as accessible as if it were at the top.
Another thing, does the site really have to be launched in a new window? I know many websites do this nowadays, but IMO it's somewhat annoying.
Nicely done. RSaucier and Jeff321 both make some very good points. But, overall it shows you have the knowledge and know how to put a great looking site together in Flash. Very impressive. :D
Yes, I have tried flash and I know how extremly hard it is to make anything! I would never be able to do what you have done! Well, maybe someday ;)
