I have not seen a thread about why powweb and all it's sites where down yesterday evening. I could not access my website, nor could I access powweb.com. Was it in fact down? Or was it perhaps a defective node somewhere between my ISP and powweb servers?

I spent big bucks and advertised my site at a HUGE event this weekend and come home to find that my site is down. It was all for nothing.....

Some customer sites were up, and some sites that were down for me, were up for others.

I thought it was my Sprint DSL or something.

Most of my sites and my customers' sites were down, but Tips-Scripts was up. And PowWeb was down altogether, but another customer said he could access PowWeb. Strange.

I noticed my site was down this mornign when a friend e-mailed me and said they couldnt' see the photo on a message board that I posted to have them critique. I also just checked my website (www.desertrosemusings.com) and it is currently down at the moment. My site is hosted on clust01.powweb.com

None of my sites on cluster05 experienced any downtime - I have two independent monitoring services watching. Can't speak for other servers, but I was on various PW sites last night and didn't notice a problen.

I'm afraid powweb isn't cutting it for me. The query limit combined with the frequent downtimes combined with the fact the email server will tag incoming hotmail message as spam combined with overcrowded servers causing slowdowns in bandwidth is not good for my business.

I'm forced to change hosts. That downtime last night was the last straw for me. =(

The downtime last night had nothing to do with Powweb. If your ISP routed through Verio to access Powweb, that is why you could not get to your site. Verio was down last night causing some customers not to be able to access our servers. I know because my ISP was routing through Verio last night :( All trace routes ended at a Verio server, before it ever got to Powweb.

Same here. I use Internet Seer monitoring service, and if the site goes down, I usually find out within 5 minutes by email. They show 100% uptime for yesterday. But, I wasn't able to access anything at Powweb, and the tracert showed the same. As well, anytime I've had very slow load times, it's always been a Verio server at fault.

How are your messages being tagged as spam?? Every mail checking system we have is end user configuerable. You can shut off RBL's (blacklists) and greylisting.
