I was wondering what a pointed domain was. I just bought powwebs service and am not sure about a lot of things. My web site currently in development is www.fantasysportsonline.com. However when it comes to pointer domains I would like to utilize every aspect of the service available to me if only I could understand it. Anyway while I am asking questions does powweb show me where I can view my traffic to the web site. thanks for any help. mike b.
thanks :D

Pointer Domain: Domain added to your account that points to your primary domain by default. You can point it to a subfolder with an .htaccess file. No DNS or SMTP services - only fowarding email. No charge - max of three.
Serviced Domain: Same as a Pointer Domain except that full DNS and SMTP services are included. $20 fee per domain - max of three.
As for stats - you can enable them in OPS on the Package > Web Site > HTTP > Usage/Stats tab. After a day, you can then see your stats at http://yourdomain.com/webstats/
Hope this helps. :)
There are now two kinds of 'pointed' domains.
1) Plain pointed domains: Where the web-space is shared with another domain name. A file called .htaccess is used to select the domain that is actually shown and to control many aspects of the domain space. This type of pointed domain does not have e-mail sending facilities from Powweb.
2) Serviced domains: The same as above plus the ability to send e-mails from Powweb's SMTP servers. This type costs a one off fee of $20.
This is all fine and dandy, HOWEVER, I already paid for a pointer domain back when they cost 20 dolalrs each. And now I am reading this
http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=53719
that says you pay 20 dollars for a serviced domnain with SMTP and DNS features and pointed domains are free?
sheesh!
Sure woulda been nice to see the future on that one. Now I am stuck with a plain old pointer domain that I already paid 20 bucks for.
