I uploaded my files a month ago - how long now before the site can be accessed, ie. not 'under construction'?

Make sure your files are in your "htdocs" directory and your main page is called "index.html".

Thanks. My files are all in htdocs but my mainpage is not called index.html.
How do I fix this? change the name and all the references and upload the whole lot again?
Or is there an easier way?
