View Full Version : Critique New Website
Hi,
I'd be really interested to get your inputs on my new site:
http://www.followsoccer.com
I kinda like it but am worried that there's no focus for the eye and maybe visitors won't take in the information...?
Thanks for your time....

hmmm... The backround is kind of dull, try adding some color and maybe some pictures.

I agree with the background comment. Add some right padding to the scrolling box. Don't center the stuff on the right side. Some people (notably a friend of mine and Yvette) have expressed their dislike of in-page scrollbars. I, however, don't mind them. I suggest not using iFrames, for a variety of reasons which I don't feel like going into right now. I suggest specifiying a DTD and validating your page against it.
OK, I agree that the background is a bit dull, I'll try to work on something to improve that. My girlfriend is also supposed to be designing a logo for me which I hope will provide some visual interest
I've got rid of all but one of my iframes and will replace the final one (the commentary section) after I've done the commentary for tomorrow's games.
AND I stopped centering the text in the right-hand column (I hated it myself originally, then kinda liked it then was unsure so glad someone else voiced an opinion!!)
Thanks for the info, hope I'll still get some more, this forum is really useful...

And if you can get it to not scroll in 800x600, that'd be nice, also. I recommend using percents for two columns then leaving a third to fill the remaining space.
