View Full Version : legal question
I was thinking about maybe charging a small fee to a select amount of people in return for designing a site for them and hosting it on my powweb account. It wouldn't be anything like a business or whatever but just a few subdomains with a portion of my storage space given out to a few people. I'm only 17 so I really don't plan on starting much of anything with it, but would there be any legal issues with Powweb if I were to do this? Obviously it's not a reseller sort of account so it might, but I'd be charging them for my creation of their site, not the act of hosting it, so there's that side of it too. I'm just curious because I don't want any trouble if I do decide to do it.

It's against our TOS to resell any portions of a hosting package.

Alright, I can give people free partitions though? Say if I were to advertise on my site that I would create and mantain like four sites of a certain size, and host it on my powweb account, without charging them, that would be ok? My main interest in doing this is because I am doing my senior project on web design and will be making a site for one of my classes, and plan to make a couple others as well, but I want them to serve some sort of purpose.
As long as you receive no compensation of any kind for sharing your web space, it's ok. But you are entirely responsible for the content of your web space.
