I have no idea how to set up Paypal. I installed OsCommerce and I clicked the accept Paypal payments link on SiteBuilder and it asks me a bunch of stuff I don't know. It asks for passwords and hosts and other things I have no idea about. I am a novice at this and I have user names and passwords coming out my ears. It is getting unbelievably frustrating. Help!
Ignore Sitebuilder.
I suggest you take this question to the osCommerce section of the forum here. But basically, the first thing you would need to do is sign up for a Premier or Business account at PayPal. Then you install the PayPal IPN contribution for osCommerce and specify your PayPal details there.

uh oh...what is a chargeback?
Chargebacks happen when the customer claims that they did not receive the product or service. I will say, though, that 42 chargebacks in a month is a bit much and suggests a change in the way you run your store.

Wouldn't delivery confirmation take care of that problem? Then you have proof it was delivered and they can take it up with the post office or whoever the shipper is.

I've been a victim of this scam and it's the reason why i no longer take paypal on any remotely expensive items. The lowlifes buy something from you (on ebay for me), then a few weeks later claim they never got it and paypal gives them the money back.
I had one guy tell me the item wasnt like he expected and he wanted his money back, and before i could even respond i got an e-mail from paypal saying that he never got the item. I had a post office delivery confirmation signed by somebody in his house but paypal could care less, and they gave him his money back. It was only after threatening to come to his house (which was two hours away) that i got my item back. Beware of Paypal!!!!
BTW Paypal claims to investigate each of these cases so the seller doesnt get scammed, but i believe it's total bs. If there was an investigation by an actual human being they could have easily seen that i had a excellent feedback record (100% positive), and a signed delivery confirmation from somebody at his address. Not to mention the e-mail from this crook stating he got the item and didnt like it. No jury in the world would have awarded him the decision, but somehow paypal did.
