I am using the web FTP to upload to several web sites at Powweb. Can the login be automated with the server, user name, and password saved in a bookmark link ? Even if just the server or username saved would help.

You can use IE (Internet Explorer) for FTP and have the computer remember your password. ftp://ftp.username@ftp01.powweb.com/ use your ftpxx numbers found in OPS.
In the dialog box that is displayed when you attempt to access a protected resource, in User name, type your user name. In Password, type your password.
Select the Remember my password check box.
Click Don't ask for this password again.
The next time you gain access to this resource, Windows supplies the user name and password you typed.
Note: If you share your computer with other users, do not choose to have the computer remember your password.

That only gives me an ftp session to view and download. I need the full resources of webftp to upload, rename, delete, etc.
I figured it out:
http://webftp.powweb.com/?hostname=xxxxx.powweb.com&username=xxx&password=pwpwpw
Where you insert your host server name, username and password. It works just fine, logs you in and takes you to the full web ftp system.
Pow needs to post this info in the OPS help system.
Thanks!

You can upload rename delete chmod etc in IE.
Sending logins over the net as you suggest is risky. Anyone could intercept your call along the way. Though if you want to use webFTP and couldn't be bothered typing in user/pass you probably don't care. At least use https://webftp.powweb..etc.
Try SmartFTP or FileZilla they are good free FTP programs. You can store multiple logins then you're in in one click. Plus you can que to upload more than 5 files at once and do all sorts of magic stuff. Check em' out.
