Yes another hockey website.
But this ones for the team.
The team just started and some links aren't done.
Team picture is from last season, click on "view team picture".
I worked hard on this team page and used my swish 2.01 program
to make it a little more fun for the boys, they're 14 and 15 years old.
Check out the forum too, still needs a little work to match the
front page. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Hokietalk :)

ps. Last season the boys were in the Bantam league, this season
they are in the Midget league. But they are not real midgets some
of them are 6 feet tall.

Your navigation links are bad because of the little spin they do. I would suggest making them spin only when the mouse is over them, otherwise they should stop.

I know what you're saying, but I have to much fun making them spin. :D
Are they really that bad? I will change it when I make new ones. I spent so much time on making the page, I'm just to burnt-out right now. Hockey season don't start till the beginning of next month. If you have some button ideas, let me know. k

ps. what do think of these buttons?

I will add some more later and you can help me decide. k

The spinny effect isn't really bad, except for that:
-It's done in Flash, which severely limits accessibility
-It has to flip 360 degrees to read the text (it'd be easier if the text was on the back, too)

I'd suggest centering the layout, so that if you're not going to have it fit in higher resolutions, it at least looks a little better.

I don't like the sound that's played on-load.scrollbar-base-color: #FFCD00;
scrollbar-track-color:#000000;
scrollbar-highlight-color:#FFCD00;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #000000;
scrollbar-DarkShadow-Color: #FFCD00 - Not necessarily bad, but realize that that's proprietary code, so it doesn't work in browsers not based on IE.

Hi, Kitchensink.

Those flash buttons were made from www.flashbuttons.com
It doesn't give you a lot of control over what you can do.
I will just make some html buttons from gifs and apply them.
I know the side bar thing with IE only works with IE.
Just remember only about 20 team mates will be looking at it. lol
The sound you hear at load is from my swish thing loading and I'm
not to good with it like adding a preloader and I'm not sure that
would stop it ether. (that sound is from the door closing)

If you can help me get it center with a code.. post it here.
I'll give it a try, for sure.

How's your website coming along?

The easy (and I think deprecated) way to center it is to just surround everything in a <center> tag. The CSS way of doing it is to surround everyhing in a div (for example, <div id="body">), then in the CSS put:
#body {
width:780px;
height:560px; /* change these to whatever, if need-be */
margin:auto; /* alternatively, margin:auto 0 0 auto; */
} As for my site, I'm not going to make any more progress until I get finish building my new computer, which won't be for another week or two, unfortunately.

Hi,

I have 2 things to say -
- The first thing, It's hard to read those spinning buttons to the left.
- Can you center the table? Think is would look better if its centered.

Else Fine Fine :)

OK, OK, OK!! No one likes the spinning button link.
What I done is made 11 button links and you can help
me decide which one to use. Look them over and post
which number (1-11) that you like me to use. If you
don't like any of them, would you make one or two
and we can all decide which one.. k

Here are the buttons..

Thanks
Hokietalk

ps. Kitchensink, I couldn't get it to center.. :o

Also.. this is the page the buttons will go on.

Well..
I finally got my team site to center. :rolleyes:
Both in high and low resolution.
Take a look..

www.coloradohockey.info/midget1.html

The only thing now is to get the message board to fit
in the same page as the rest. I tried an inine frame and
it didn't look or work to well. I'm looking for a message
board or a chat board that will fit. I seen some message
boards with a "shout box" and they look good. If anyone
knows where I can get a code for one let me know.. k

Thanks to all that helped with the suggestions and comments.

Hokietalk.

ps.. stay out of the forum please.

This website has already been critique, if you feel you must comment.. please do.
But that don't mean I'll change it.. not unless it'd something drastic, k.
