I'm about to change my web hosting and have found PowWeb to be the cheapest with the best services..

I would just ask any feedback to know what everyone thinks. So far I think it looks great and see no other reason to pick another hosting service...

Yes, you should host your website at Powweb. They have been consistantly improving and adding additional services.

Now, if you wish to improve your Karma for those several next lives, enter "apassion4jazz.net" where it says "referred by"

I've been here about a week and have had excellent experiences! Looking at other hosting packages, the only thing you don't get here that they offer is a higher price tag!

I cant explain until i get things cleared up, lets just say this problem has gone on long enough...

Hmm, not very descriptive. I will assume that you have exhausted the normal channels of our support web site, our FAQ section, and using support@powweb.com.

You have my ear, what seems to be the problem?

Umm.. Yea I don't know the problem either....

I was asking for feedback..

Lots of goods, one bad...Good record so far

Ok, it was kind of convoluted. Here is what happened:

You had logged into your domain management page, and changed your domain management control panel access password. It seems you then forgot what you changed your password to.

NOTE: Customers that register their domain(s) with Powweb can manage their domains via http://powweb.com/domains.

The good news is I was able to take care of this for you (I hope). I made sure that OpenSRS (Our current registrar), e-Mailed the login password for aoguides.com to the admin contact, vorpal.bunny@movie-banter.com. :)

Problem solved. :)

The domain had a dot (.) at the end of it here is the link

[Editors Note: Thanx, I fixed it above as well. slp]

OK, the problem was that i couldnt get powweb to send the login and password to the admin of the domain.

powweb is a reseller of a service provided by opensrs.org. opensrs told me that powweb has to do this cause it is in their contract.

it seems to be cleared up now but not until 2 months has passed of trying to get this done.

just so you know.

but on the flip side, I was hosted by powweb for approximatly 3 weeks. I wanted to use phpnuke but the folks there couldn't guarentee me that it would work.

so i had to go elsewhere.

Thats it.

good hosting company.

PHP Nuke runs flawlessly on our systems as long as you know what you’re doing. We are having a small discussion about this in our “PHP / MySQL” forum. :)

NOTE: Powweb does not provide technical support for mySQL, nor 3rd party scripts.

I'm very happy with my powweb service so far!

Yeah the only problems I've had here have been the result of my own stupidity. All my tech support questions and issues were dealt with within 24 hours. I have nothing to complain about.

It was quite by accident that I stumbled across Powweb hosting (after I'd dismally given up looking for a better host). I think the service is great and they've got a good value package. A far cry from my old hoster "Hostsave" *shudders*

Hope to see those new features and control panel soon!

While I was shopping, I wanted to be careful not to get too far "off-net." My previous hosting firm was "in the same building as 3 major Internet backbones," and so was the one before that.

As I looked at hosts using pingplotter and visualware, I noticed that it's *quite a few hops* from just about anywhere to Powweb.

However, I took a chance and switched. Guess what? Powweb gives me the faster access across 16 hops than the "on-net" providers gave me across 6. I'm a happy camper indeed.

My last host was "on-net" but if any one of the "3 major Internet backbones" went down, so did my websites. Also, there was consistent 10-25% packet loss at the last "on-net" router, which explains the laggardly response time.

One weekend, 2 of my major clients were down all weekend while tech support cogitated about it (probably at home in their beds).

So far, I haven't caught Powweb down at all. And the performance here makes me believe that Powweb has chosen well in its upstream pipeline and the support thereof.

I love U guys.

They have a FORUM......

Do your other hosts have that?

Are you hearing complaints here of downed webpages?

California outage happened, didn't affect my webpages.

My e-mails of FTP server not working....on 3 occassions, was fixed within 15-30 min. and e-mail sent 4 hrs. later saying it was ok.

I have been through their bad-times, slow loading pages, wanting to charge me $35 for a question, e-mail that took 3-5 min. to load online cause couldn't get it through POP3, cause it always timed out!!!

PowWeb just shut down my site for 4 hrs. about 8 weeks ago, for upgrades, these upgrades were AWESOME for webpages, but buggy on our end. (We worked through the glitches!)

You come in here after bugs are worked out.... And ASK how good they are.......

PowWeb offers a Package, you have ACCESS to ALL Forums!

And you ask these questions...........

I personally like them cause there are NO limits (very few) they support anything I want to do with my webpage!
Give you NO hassles of usage or webspace.

They LEAVE me alone and let me do my thing and send ZERO spam mails! NO offers, no nothing! But I recieve 3-4 more spam mails, each day since I joined them...... :(

But people who don't like their service, would they come here and complain? I don't think so

Starr
11-19-01, 03:32 AM
Colby, maybe maybe not. If a user wants to post a complaint, they are more then welcome to do so. Fact is most ppl do NOT have problems with our services or support. :)

Colby

I was just saying, in general. I have no reason to complain :) I hope I never do

Have to say that I am very happy with this host. My only quark is that FTP can be a little slow at times and patients is not my forte. But for the price and the options that you get. It can't be beat. When problems do occur I have personally found them to be solve quickly. Now with these forums which I believe are the best, How can you go wrong......

POWWEB best hosting services I have found in years
