Hi there can you help, my cart seems to loading slow on the powweb servers, I have spoken to the software developers and they looked into it and I got this reply.

Hi David,

I've been working on your site since my last message. I'm not a server administrator, so I can't say for certain exactly what is going on here. I can tell you that at times your server does seem sluggish. We haven't had reports of this before. It appears that your server may be tasked, or something else may be slowing it down.

I did a test, loading this page with Diagnostics mode enabled:
http://www.mydomain.com/store.php?crn=197&rn=262&action=show_detail

On your server, it took PHP 2.99 seconds to finish generating the page. That is a long time. You also need to add the time it takes for your browser to download the page, and you can see how that could add up to a long time.

On our admin demo, we tested the same page:
http://www.squirrelcart.com/admindemo/index.php?crn=197&rn=262&action=show_detail

On our server (which is also on shared hosting), PHP took 0.24818 seconds to generate the same page. This is coming from identical files, and identical database records. For this example, our server was about 12 times faster in generating the page.

I don't know enough about your server to guess what could be causing this. You might want to report it to your web host and see what they say.

Thanks,
Jamie

Can Powweb throw some light on this please.

I'll help you out here since you appear to be new.

To start with this is not a Powweb Support forum - there may be Powweb employees that occasionally drop by, but that's a coincidence rather than a regular thing. This is volunteer help. If you have specific site problems log a trouble ticket with Powweb either using your MemberOps page or sending a trouble ticket to support@powweb.com.

In either case and even in these forums you're not going to get a response at all if you do what you did here.

If you're serious about getting help, start with this information in your trouble ticket:

What's your domain?
What's the MySQL server you're on?
Can the problem be reproduced with regularity - or does it happen at a certain time of day?

By the way, you're on a shared hosting environment, so comparing database results to a corporate site with a dedicated server is unreasonable. Apples to apples ....

Are you Powweb staff?

Please read the post, on a shared hosting site they are 12 times quicker.

Powweb please address this issue. I am trying to run a business. Is Powweb for business or not?????

If not I must change hoster.

David,

You need to contact support if you're expecting PowWeb to look into your issue. Just as mitchind stated, this forum is not an official method of contacting PowWeb support. You need to use one of the official means of contacting PowWeb: email (support@powweb.com), call (877-4-PowWeb), or live chat (http://chat.powweb.com).

You won't get help from these forums for problems like you're having.

You'll get a bunch of people spewing "contact powweb" but contacting powweb's support is really no better than punching yourself in the face ten times. Support stinks, service stinks, and I'm really SORRY I spent my cash on this company.

Thanks. Rant off.
