I setup up an account and domain at everyone.net, which worked ok after being setup. Then I setup a web hosting account with powweb.com and had the DNS settings changes to point to my site at powweb.com. Now my web based mail points to powweb.com instead of everyone.net. I added a cname to point to my email at everyone.net using one of the tools at powweb.com, but it still doesn't work correctly. Can anyone help me fix this? My domain name is klenger.net, so http://mail.klenger.net should point to everyone.net. Does everyone.net have a generic login page for their web based email clients? Thanks. I can be emailed at ken@klenger.net or post here.

Well, it seems to work OK now. Is it possible that it might take 24 hours for the cname enty in the DNS to be propagated to my ISP?
I am still somewhat confused on how this cname works. The cname mail.klenger.net points to sitemail.everyone.net. The can bring up the web page pointed to by the cname, but I cannot access the page at sitemail.everyone.net. Does the term "sitemail" get resolved into some other name?
Things that you could do:
1) make sure you set up the MX record correctly
2) set up a cname (I suppose mail.yourdomain.com has been reserve for powweb web mail), so may be you should set up another cname for your everyone.net login page. By the way, the cname should be pointed to "siteurl.everyone.net."
3) send an email to everyone.net (DNS support) about your situation, tell them that you wanna change your login page from their login page to hostname.yourdomain.com
It doesn't take a long time for everyone.net to change the url (they can do it within a minute), but it takes a long while from powweb to update the cname (for me it took almost a day and half, though it suppose to take 12 hrs).
Hope that's help,
Bay
To add support for everyone.net, just log into your Ops area, and under the "SMTP" tab, click on the link (at the bottom) for "everyone.net".
This will automatically set up your account to b able to use everyone.net's email service.

As reported on my 2nd post, the email started working about 24 hours after I made the change you recommended. I am assuming that the problem was due to propagation through the DNS servers. Can you verify if there whold be a delay for a cname change?
Thanks
Ken Lenger
There is a 12 to 24 hour delay for DNS modifications to take affect. We reload named at noon and midnight daily.

Thanks for the response. It might be a good idea to mention the delay somewhere in your instructions so that users like me don't get all excited when it doesn't work right away. Everything is working correctly now.
