I am currently receiving a "Too Many Connections" error on my site www.mctedoprogramming.com, which uses PHP to access a MySQL database.

On my forum, (on a seperate db), I get the error;
mySQL error: 1040
Too many connections
Query:
(http://forum.mctedoprogramming.com)

When attempting to look at my mysql server in ops I get the Error:
Unable to connect to MySQL server on mysql06.powweb.com

1 of my other databases is working (mysql08.powweb.com)

Any ideas?

I just got warning: mysql_pconnect(): Too many connections in /www/s/sonicsprings/htdocs/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 17 Unable to connect to database server!

Our website does not generate a lot of traffic (maybe 70 visits a day) and the database isn't very large. Last night I optimized my Sessions table, but I don't know if that is related.

I think the largest consumer of my bandwith is actually the internet robots...could this be causing the too many connections error??
