MediaWiki problem

I installed MediaWiki from the Powweb Instant Installer page. After install, I try to login as the admin account. It says the account does not exist. I am missing something. I have installed several other packages that have the same type of login after install and they all work.

My password is 6 characters long, Is that enough? The admin user name is assigned by the installer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I did a manual install of MediaWiki, and didn't have the trouble you're having.

You can go to your wiki, even without logging in, at http://(yoursite)/(yourwiki)/index.php?title=Special:Listusers and make sure the user exists.

If it's there, the next thing I'd do would be to log in to PhpMyAdmin (link from OPS) with your database username and password, and look for that user record. Perhaps there's something wrong with the record.
