installing shipping logic within another shopping cart

I have designed my own shopping cart. I've been using it for many years and it works great, but is missing a shipping component.

I am hoping there is a way to extract just the shipping logic from osCommerce and implement it into my cart's code. Has anyone ever succeeded to do this?

I don't care much for osCommerce, it is full of a lot of unnecessary code, for my liking.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's not worth trying to do this. You can certainly study the code you're interested in, but the way modules work is specific to osCommerce and unless you duplicated its mechanisms, simply extracting the code would not work.
