I deleted the review and review description tables from my OSCommerce site, and it fouled up the whole site. What is the easiest way to restore them. They were empty so no info would be lost. heres what it looks like now http://southseajewelry.net/ , it messed with the admin site also, and I assume putting them back will fix it. Thanx Marlee:confused:

I've downloaded the Friday backup it is dmp.gz file. I've tried renaming sql and importing, but it's the same, I ignored the "things look like they won't work out error". I'll keep trying, any pointers anybody? Thanx Marlee.

After installing " 7-layer "freeware unzipper program for the backup dmp.gz file I downloaded from site tools backups(Don't assume your computer has a gzip, mine didn't). I was able to open it up, I made sure it was readable, I renamed the extension .sql . I browsed it in mysql and imported it. It worked great, even when it said "things look like they won't work out error showed". This is newbie speak, and I'm back:)
It would be nice if someone could condense the old threads to the question and definitve answer with an appropriate title so a search would hit it. Very hit and miss getting the info that IS avaliable here. Thanx for everyone who puts their time in here to keep us going!

The PowWeb OPS SQL restore option is rather new, and it seems to have some glitches when asked to restore a compressed backup. I mainly use phpmyadmin to do this.

Most popular compression tools understand .gz files. WinZip certainly does.
