Trying to install OsCommerce template

I am trying to FTP a new oscommerce template I got, and half way through the FTP just stops. I am installing the folder called "shop" into my htdocs folder, I tried transferring the files in ASCII and everything. Do I have to set certain chmod permision to the htdocs folder or to the shop folder or something? Its wierd though it just stops transferring. Well I hope someone can help.

No, there should not be anything special you have to do to upload files. Which FTP client are you using and what does it say when it stops?

Thanks alot for helping Stevel I figured it out. I was uploading in ACSII and it would either freeze up or it would transfer all smeared and messed, and then i went to the template support site and they told me to upload it using binary, i did and it worked. Thanks!
