I have 3 pieces of DVD video (commercials) which I need to place online in web format. I was thinking of converting the DVD into divx/avi and then I am not sure how to play this online. We want it to be able to stream live. In one of the cases, I also need to edit the commercial and remove some minutes before and some minutes after the part of interest.

Any ideas on the best software to us?

Thanks

Pinnicale is awesome at the top end. How's your bank balance?

For something a bit cheaper InterVideo (http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp) has a range of softwares that are reasonably priced. DVD Copy will rip to divX AVI WMV MPEG1-2-4 etc formats. Also note WMV is capable of being streamed. Once you rip your AVI MPG or whatever you could even just edit and save as WMV with Xp's MSWMM (Microsoft Windows Movie Maker) I Avoid AVI online as the filesizes are not exactly web friendly. You will a decent amount of Ram and free disc space to play with this stuff.

I guess powweb doesn't support video streaming... Correct me if I'm wrong...

I guess powweb doesn't support video streaming... Correct me if I'm wrong... Powweb is not a 'true' streaming server type like Shoutcast no. Where did you see it advertised as such? Powweb does stream through HTTP protocol like most hosts. If you need true streaming work your butt off, build a site people visit, then hand it all over to the Demi Gods of stream.

These are small cases to show some promos of the company and powweb would certainly not ban this website beacsue of that.
