I am the webmaster for a non-profit organization. I have been asked to set it up so that members or volunteers can make charitable donations on-line. I have heard about PayPal, osC, and a couple of others companies that can process credit-cards payments on-line. I contacted PayPal and learned about their 2.9% + .30 per transaction fee.

I want to get your opinion on the various on-line credit card services that can do this for us and their pro’s and con’s. i.e. security, easy to setup, etc…

Is eBay’s Paypal the best option for a small non-profit org? Can you recommend others? What companies do you like?

btw: I posted this question on the Content Mgmt. Section but did not receive a response. Thanks

Thanks.

PayPal is easy to deal with and their fees are low. All services that process credit card transactions will assess a fee, and most charge more than PayPal does.

I run two non-profit web sites. For one, which has a very low volume of donations, I use PayPal. For the other, I use Network for Good (www.networkforgood.org/npo) which has more features and looks nicer for the donor. They charge a flat 3%.

Thanks Stevel. I visited "Network for Good" website. I like it. For now, I think we are still in the low volume range - for now. Again, thanks.
