I saw an earlier thread for checkout options here that is closed, then went to OSCommerce for mods to download, I saw our favorite Modulator had some contributions in this area. I think we all want a sleeker, faster checkout, i.e.; get necessary info for checkout, but reduce workload for the customer. There were several options and many that had fixes needed, as they seemed to be a work in progress. What are the experiences of Powweb users in this area? I use Paypal Direct Merchant Credit Cards and standard Paypal payment options. I really only want an email, address and name. Logins and creating accounts just seem like barriers to the purchase for my business. Thanx again all, Marlee.

There is a popular contribution called Purchase Without Account. It works quite well. I don't currently use it on my store but I tested it (and made some improvements which the PWA author folded in).

Thanx Steve, saw it , the German frightened me a little at first. In the second part it says -
includes/languages/german/login.php
(other languages please translate by yourself)

vor der ersten Zeile, die mit "define..." beginnt, einfügen:
before the first line like "define..." begins, insert:

// Ingo PWA
define('TEXT_GUEST_INTRODUCTION', '<b>Sofort zur Kasse?</b><br><br>Sie m&ouml;chten bei uns einkaufen, ohne ein Kundenkonto zu erstellen? Auch das ist m&ouml;glich. Doch beachten Sie, daß Ihnen dann nicht alle Leistungen und Optionen unseres Shops zur Verf&uuml;gung stehen k&ouml;nnen.<br>Unter anderem k&ouml;nnen Sie den Bearbeitungsstand Ihres Auftrags nicht verfolgen und m&uuml;ssen bei einem weiteren Einkauf alle Ihre Daten neu eintragen.');

What would be appropriate for this? The others sections seem pretty straight forward.
So no downloads on this, just copy, cut or paste. eh? I'll give it a shot, thanx Steve.

I'm not sure what you're looking at. Many contributions include multiple languages, or people add on files to the list that supply other languages.

There is definitely a download and some new files. I think you want this one (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,355/download,11276).

Thanx Steve for the reply, that's the one I'm looking at Ver. 1.01, the latest and greatest. I'll try an earlier version 0.910 from Nov 27 and try that. Marlee.

Just keep in mind that "latest and greatest" is in the mind of the person who posted the newer file. That 1.01 is not from the original author. That by itself is not necessarily bad, but it does not look to me like something of great value in this case.
