Are you asking for help designing a cd cover, creating a file for printers or the entire process? I design cd covers in Photoshop that can be converted to a file format of choice by the company who will print the covers. You should ask the printer in advance what format they prefer. Some use Corel Draw while others prefer Adobe Illustrator files. Some even request PDF files that will look the same on any computer.

Make a list of specifications. Describe what you want to see on the front and what you want to see on the back. Is this one square paper in the front or two square papers - front and back? Do you have any preferred font styles, colors or images.

Ask the business that prints your cd covers what file format they prefer. Some use Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or even PDF files that work for any computer. Knowing the format BEFORE the design is created is helpful for best results. PDF files are great for your font of choice if your printer uses a Mac and we use a PC to create your design.

When you are ready, you can email me if you like.

Do you have a messenger screen name that we can speak on? I can email you a sketch of what id like it to look like. Thanks for your time. I will be printing it myself, I have bought the labels form meritline they have 2 labels on each sheet. I think Photoshop has the best quality and flexibility, I want a gradient in there as well, Give you more details when i make a sketch. Here is the label I bought:

I don't use Instant Messenger, because it is a doorway for trojan horses and worms that exploit computers. I often am completing several tasks simultaneously, so email works best.

You can upload the sketch to your server and send a link to it via email or you can attach it, but that takes more time. I usually recommend uploading to a subdirectory that is protected from search engines using robots.txt and including a blank index page in that subdirectory. Yes, I can be paranoid, but I won't ask you to password-protect the subdirectory. You could, but you would need a secure method of relaying the login info to me!

Hmmm.... I just looked at the template and it shows two decals and two spine inserts. Is that what you wanted? I was thinking of the sleeves. Do you need that, too? The spine insert has the one line in the center insted of two lines centered in the middle. Weird. I am wondering where the text will land. We must test this on regular paper first! ;)
